# ZED Box Mini

The [ZED Box Mini](https://www.stereolabs.com/series/zed-box) is a compact, cost-effective, and high-performance embedded system designed for camera-based applications, featuring essential I/O, portability, and advanced [GMSL2](/docs/products/embedded/zed-link-capture-card/gmsl2#what-is-gmsl2) (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link) connectivity.

Powered by embedded [NVIDIA® Jetson™](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/autonomous-machines/embedded-systems/) modules, it serves as the intelligent core for fully autonomous AI systems, ensuring real-time processing and robust performance in demanding environments.

A key advantage of the [ZED Box Mini](https://www.stereolabs.com/series/zed-box) is its ability to directly convert [GMSL2](/docs/products/embedded/zed-link-capture-card/gmsl2#what-is-gmsl2) or USB3.0 camera input into Gigabit Ethernet streams, enabling high-speed, long-distance data transmission with minimal latency through the ZED SDK's [Streaming module](/docs/development/zed-sdk/modules/camera/local-network-streaming).

The core of the ZED Box Mini is the [Mini Carrier Board](https://www.stereolabs.com/store/products/zed-carrier-mini), a custom compact [GMSL2](/docs/products/embedded/zed-link-capture-card/gmsl2#what-is-gmsl2) carrier board for [NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano and Orin NX compute modules](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/autonomous-machines/embedded-systems/jetson-orin/).

## Configurations

### Compute module

The ZED Box Mini and Mini Carrier Board support different [NVIDIA® Jetson™ compute modules](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/autonomous-machines/embedded-systems/jetson-orin/) for different computing power solutions:

* NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano 4 GB - 20 TOPS
* NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano 8 GB - 40 TOPS
* NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin NX 8 GB - 70 TOPS
* NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin NX 16 GB - 100 TOPS

> **Warning**
>
> The Mini Carrier Board requires a Jetson compute module to operate. It is not a standalone product.

You can purchase the Mini Carrier Board without any processing module included and add an Orin Nano or Orin NX module you already own, or purchase it with a Jetson module already installed.

### Storage memory

An SSD 256GB mounted on an M.2 Key-M 2242 socket is included with all the configurations.
