The ZED 2i and ZED Mini USB 3 cameras work with a ZED Box, but also with a Windows or Linux PC equipped with an NVIDIA® GPU. See [Choose your camera](/docs/products/cameras#choose-your-camera) to choose the camera first. ## ZED Box Orin or ZED Box Mini ZED Boxes ship with a pre-configured operating system, including the ZED SDK and the GMSL2 driver. | Feature | ZED Box Orin | ZED Box Mini | | :--------------------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Jetson module | Orin Nano 8 GB (40 TOPS) Orin NX 8 GB (70 TOPS) Orin NX 16 GB (100 TOPS) | Orin Nano 4 GB (20 TOPS) Orin Nano 8 GB (40 TOPS) Orin NX 8 GB (70 TOPS) Orin NX 16 GB (100 TOPS) | | GMSL2 ports | 4, on a single 4-wire FAKRA connector | 2 FAKRA-Z connectors, one camera per port | | Maximum GMSL2 cameras | 4 (2 per port group) | 2 | | Maximum ZED X One 4K cameras | 2 | 1 | | Ethernet | 1x Gigabit RJ45 with **PoE+** | 1x Gigabit RJ45 | | USB | 3x USB 3.0 Type-A | 1x USB 3.0 Type-A | | WiFi | Included | Optional | | GNSS | Optional | No | | Multi-device synchronization | No | GMSL2 trigger input and output | | GPIO port | No | CAN, UART, 2x GPIO | | Storage | NVMe SSD: 256 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB | SSD: 256 GB | | Power input | DC 12 V to 19 V, up to 60 W or PoE+, up to 25.5 W | DC 10.5 V to 13.5 V, 60 W max | | Cooling | Fanless, passive | 12 V fan connector, fan recommended for high power modes | | Operating temperature | 0°C to +50°C | -20°C to +50°C | **Choose the ZED Box Orin** for: * **Three or four GMSL2 cameras**, or two ZED X One 4K cameras. * **Power over Ethernet**: a single network cable powers the whole system, within the 25.5 W PoE+ budget. * **Global localization**, with the [GNSS option](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/using-gnss). * **Fanless operation**, with more USB ports and larger storage. **Choose the ZED Box Mini** for: * **One or two GMSL2 cameras** at full frame rate, in a smaller and more cost-effective device. * **Multi-device synchronization**: the trigger input and output synchronize the cameras of several ZED Box Mini units, as described in [Multi-device synchronization](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/connectivity#multi-device-synchronization). * **Direct I/O** with CAN, UART and GPIOs, described in [Using GPIO](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/using-gpio). * **Low ambient temperatures**, down to -20°C. ### Frame rate with several cameras On the **ZED Box Mini**, each GMSL2 port runs its camera at full frame rate, for example HD1200 at 60 fps or SVGA at 120 fps. On the **ZED Box Orin**, the four ports are organized in two groups of two ports. One stereo camera per group runs at full frame rate. With two stereo cameras in the same group, the frame rate is limited to 30 fps in HD1200 and HD1080, and 60 fps in SVGA. Spread your cameras across the two groups to keep the maximum frame rate. See [Using GMSL with ZED Box Orin](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/using-gmsl#zed-box-orin-with-4-wire-gmsl2-connectivity) for all the supported combinations. ## Mini Carrier Board The [Mini Carrier Board](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/) is the board inside the ZED Box Mini, sold without enclosure. It offers the same connectivity as the ZED Box Mini. Choose it to integrate the board in your own enclosure or robot. It is available with a Jetson Orin Nano or Orin NX module, or without a module if you already own one. > **Warning** > > The Mini Carrier Board requires a Jetson compute module to operate. It is not a standalone product. ## Jetson Developer Kit with a ZED Link capture card A ZED Link capture card adds GMSL2 or MIPI CSI-2 camera inputs to an NVIDIA® Jetson™ Developer Kit. Choose this option when the ZED Boxes do not cover your needs: * **More computing power**: the ZED Boxes use Jetson Orin Nano and Orin NX modules. For a Jetson AGX Orin, use a ZED Link Duo or ZED Link Quad. * **More GMSL2 cameras**: a ZED Link Quad on a Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit captures up to 8 ZED X One GS or ZED X One S cameras. * **ZED X One Core cameras**: these MIPI CSI-2 cameras require a [ZED Link MIPI Quad](/docs/products/embedded/zed-link-capture-card/mipi/), and are not compatible with the ZED Boxes. | Capture card | Camera interface | Supported Developer Kits | | :----------------- | :--------------- | :---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | ZED Link Mono | GMSL2 | Jetson Orin Nano | | ZED Link Duo | GMSL2 | Jetson AGX Orin, Jetson Orin Nano | | ZED Link Quad | GMSL2 | Jetson AGX Orin | | ZED Link MIPI Quad | MIPI CSI-2 | Jetson AGX Orin (4 cameras) Jetson AGX Thor with Holoscan Sensor Bridge (2 cameras, beta) | The table lists the Developer Kits supported by the current ZED SDK, which runs on Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor platforms. See the [Recommended Specifications for ZED SDK](/docs/development/zed-sdk/specifications/). A Developer Kit is designed for development: for deployment, plan the enclosure, cooling and cabling of your system, or contact [support@stereolabs.com](mailto:support@stereolabs.com) about other Jetson carrier boards. ## Next steps * Set up your device: [ZED Box Orin](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/), [ZED Box Mini](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/), [ZED Link GMSL2 capture cards](/docs/products/embedded/zed-link-capture-card/gmsl2/) or [ZED Link MIPI capture cards](/docs/products/embedded/zed-link-capture-card/mipi/). * Plan a system with several cameras: [Multi-Camera](/docs/development/zed-sdk/modules/camera/multi-camera). * Tune the power consumption of the Jetson module: [ZED Box Orin power modes](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/power-modes) and [ZED Box Mini power modes](/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/power-modes). ## Docs - [ZED Box Mini](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini.md) - [Install your ZED Box Mini](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/installation.md) - [ZED Box Mini Connectivity](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/connectivity.md) - [Using the GPIOs on your ZED Box Mini and Mini Carrier Board](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/using-gpio.md) - [Remote access via Serial Console](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/serial-console.md): ZED Box Mini Remote Access via Serial Console - [Flash your ZED Box Mini](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/reset-update.md) - [Power Modes](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/power-modes.md): Tune the power consumption and performance of your ZED Box Mini - [Flash your ZED Box Mini with Real-Time Kernel](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/real-time-kernel.md) - [Troubleshooting](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-mini/troubleshooting.md): ZED Box Mini Troubleshooting - [ZED Box Orin](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin.md) - [Install your ZED Box Orin](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/installation.md) - [Using GMSL with ZED Box Orin](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/using-gmsl.md) - [Using GNSS with ZED Box Orin](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/using-gnss.md) - [Remote access via Serial Console](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/serial-console.md): ZED Box Orin Remote Access via Serial Console - [Flash your ZED Box Orin](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/reset-update.md) - [Power Modes](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/power-modes.md): Tune the power consumption and performance of your ZED Box Orin - [Flash your ZED Box Orin with Real-Time Kernel](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/real-time-kernel.md) - [Troubleshooting](https://docs.stereolabs.com/docs/products/embedded/zed-box-orin/troubleshooting.md): ZED Box Orin Troubleshooting
