The ZED Box Mini is a compact, cost-effective, and high-performance embedded system designed for camera-based applications, featuring essential I/O, portability, and advanced GMSL2 (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link) connectivity.

Powered by embedded NVIDIA® Jetson™ modules, it serves as the intelligent core for fully autonomous AI systems, ensuring real-time processing and robust performance in demanding environments.

A key advantage of the ZED Box Mini is its ability to directly convert GMSL2 or USB3.0 camera input into Gigabit Ethernet streams, enabling high-speed, long-distance data transmission with minimal latency through the ZED SDK’s Streaming module.

The core of the ZED Box Mini is the Mini Carrier Board, a custom compact GMSL2 carrier board for NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano and Orin NX compute modules.

Configurations

Compute module

The ZED Box Mini and Mini Carrier Board support different NVIDIA® Jetson™ compute modules for different computing power solutions:

  • NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano 4 GB - 20 TOPS
  • NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano 8 GB - 40 TOPS
  • NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin NX 8 GB - 70 TOPS
  • NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin NX 16 GB - 100 TOPS

The Mini Carrier Board requires a Jetson compute module to operate. It is not a standalone product.

You can purchase the Mini Carrier Board without any processing module included and add an Orin Nano or Orin NX module you already own, or purchase it with a Jetson module already installed.

Board revisions

The Rev. 2 of the Mini Carrier Board, also used inside the ZED Box Mini, is sold starting from Q4 2026. It supports NVIDIA® Super Mode, which adds the MAXN SUPER power mode and higher power budgets, for up to:

  • NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano 4 GB - 34 TOPS
  • NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano 8 GB - 67 TOPS
  • NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin NX 8 GB - 117 TOPS
  • NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin NX 16 GB - 157 TOPS

The board revision is printed on the PCB of the Mini Carrier Board.

The fan for ZED Box Mini is mandatory to use the MAXN SUPER power mode.

  • 1x Micro USB2.0 Type-B for system flashing & OTG
  • 1x GMSL2 Camera Synchronization Trigger Input
  • 1x GMSL2 Cameras Synchronization Trigger Output
  • 1x 12V Fan Entry (fan mandatory in MAXN SUPER mode)
  • 1x GPIO port: 1x CAN, 1x UART, 2x general GPIOs, 1x 5V, 1x 3.3V, 2x GND

Storage memory

An SSD 256GB mounted on an M.2 Key-M 2242 socket is included with all the configurations.
